David Gow was appointed to the School Council in 2013. He attended Churchie from 1970 to 1975. His father Neil, his brother Stewart and his son Fraser also attended the School. Upon completing his secondary schooling, he attended the University of Queensland where he received degrees in law and commerce. He was admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland in 1983.
David has enjoyed a 30-year career spanning private law practice, corporate legal counsel, and senior management positions in corporate and investment banking. His 19-year career with Citibank included roles in Brisbane, where he was State Manager Corporate, and subsequently in Sydney, Melbourne, Hong Kong and Singapore. His ﬁnal role with Citibank before returning to Brisbane in 2008, was Head of Corporate Banking for South East Asia, based in Singapore.
David’s current focus is non-executive directorships and corporate advice. He has previously served on the boards of Citibank Singapore Ltd, PriMed Pty Ltd, University of Queensland Holdings and Qld Children’s Medical Research Institute, and is currently a non-executive director of Children's Health Queensland, Elcano Pty Ltd, Long Pipes Limited and Z-Filter Pty Ltd.
David is a graduate of the Company Directors course with the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow of the AICD, and has also completed an executive management course with Wharton/SMU.
