Annemaree Carroll is Professor in the School of Education at The University of Queensland and Associate Dean (Research) in the Faculty of the Humanities and Social Sciences. She is a Chief Investigator and Co-ordinator of Translational Outcomes within the Australian Research Council Special Research Initiative, Science of Learning Research Centre.
Annemaree is a registered psychologist and teacher. Her research activities focus on understanding the impact of emotions, attention, and behaviour on learning throughout child and adolescent development, developing innovative self-regulatory interventions for children and youth to bring about positive change in their lives, and implementing strategies that can be translated into educational outcomes.
Annemaree has been Chief Investigator on several federally funded grants from which the innovative KooLKIDS and Mindfields suite of programmes were developed. Her partnerships with the Queensland Department of Education and Brisbane Catholic Education have been particularly beneficial in establishing applied research that will make a difference in the lives of teachers and students.
