Churchie is one of Australia's leading schools for boys from Reception to Year 12. It is a boarding and day school with over 1800 students. The school's enrolment of sons of Old Boys is one of the highest of any Australian school.
The Churchie Foundation was formed in 1989 as the school's central fundraising body. It aims to:
provide financial support for building priorities and scholarship programmes, and
grow an endowment to provide ongoing funds.
Initial fundraising contributed to significant building work in the early 1990s, including refurbishment of School House and construction of cloisters on Morris Hall. The Foundation helped fund construction of the Jensen Building, the Stanley and May Smith Science Centre, new Prep School buildings, Boarding House refurbishments and other major improvement projects.
The impressive Sir John Pidgeon Sports Complex and Barry McCart Aquatic Centre were officially opened in 2010. All major projects receive substantial funding through the Churchie Foundation. The Foundation has raised over $25 million for the school.
