Pinwheel poppy project

Location: The Lookout at Kangaroo Point Cliffs
River Terrace and Paton Street intersection

Date: 9 November, 2018

Time: 08:30 AM

On Friday 9 November, the Kangaroo Point Cliffs will be adorned with 4000 red, white and purple handmade poppies assembled by local school children, including Churchie's cadets, IB Diploma Programme and Prep School students, to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the signing of the Armistice ending World War One, and the legacy of Remembrance Day.

The large artwork covers 120 square metres of the Kangaroo Point Cliffs for four days, between 9th to 12th November.

The artwork is a joint project led by local artist and architect Suzanne Bosanquet and the Gabba Business Association which has been funded by a Federal Government Armistice Centenary Grant.

The red poppies are in commemoration of those affected by war, the white for peace and the purple for service animals.
