The Churchie Art Awards (CART2021) season launched on Friday 27 August, showcasing outstanding talent in our artistic and creative world.
Starting with work from our Year 12 QCE students and extending to a celebration of work from younger students over the coming weeks, the opening of CART2021 saw our senior students tackling a range of personal and social issues. View the works in a virtual gallery below.
Connor McGovern-Cubby opened the event by activating his installation Pollution
, looking at the fight for indigenous peoples to be heard in contemporary Australia. Other students represented their views on mental health, explored pressures of masculinity, conveyed a political and philosophical awareness, and demonstrated a capacity to reflect on ideas deeply and sensitively.
Thank you to our judges, artist and Old Boy Sam Cranstoun and designer and Old Boy Angus Scott-Young.
