On Monday 24 July, Churchie hosted 65 teams from 12 Brisbane schools in our biggest ever Maths Team Challenge. The Maths Team Challenge asks students, in teams of five, to solve challenging maths problems in both a team event and team relay round. Challenges were set by Mr Wasley and Mr Krasniewicz in the Maths Department.
Churchie teams performed extremely well, finishing as the second ranked school, narrowly beaten by St Joseph’s College, Gregory Terrace, across all divisions. Particular congratulations should go to the team of Benjamin Campbell, Michael Ostapenko, Harry Rae, Dashiell Young and Jared Sia who were winners in the Junior Division (Years 7 and 8). Our intermediate teams (Years 9 and 10) finished runners up and third in their division and our Senior A team (Years 11 and 12) finished third in the senior division.
Harry Lee-Jones (Year 12), William Richardson (Year 11), James Dyer (Year 12), Alexander Gluch (Year11), Shiven Singh (Year 12).
