Old Boy Zac Stubblety-Cook (2017)

Churchie congratulates Old Boy Zac Stubblety-Cook (2017) on winning gold in the men’s 200-metre breaststroke final in the Olympic record time of 2:06.38.

Our Year 8 students were filmed by several TV networks as they watched the race and showed their support, cheering him on as he crossed the finish line.

Headmaster Dr Alan Campbell said Zac was a humble, hardworking young man who is most deserving of his success.

‘Our students, along with young Australians everywhere, will be inspired by his achievements, and his Olympic success will certainly spur them on in their endeavours, whatever they may be,’ he said.

‘Zac has reminded us that anything is possible with a dream, lots of hard work and a never-give-in attitude!’
