Queensland Football Champions
Churchie was recently announced as the Queensland State Champion in the Bill Turner Cup, the largest under 15 football competition in Australia.
Wins against Christian Outreach College (13-0), Cavendish Road SHS (3-0) and Iona College (5-1) saw Churchie reach the Brisbane South/Gold Coast Area final against a very good Palm Beach-Currumbin team. At full time, the game was 1-1, but with 30 seconds left on the clock in extra time, Jayden Draper scored a goal from a nearly impossible angle, securing the win.
In the Queensland finals, Churchie played Cairns SHS, with Levi Collins securing the win in the first minute of extra time to put Churchie through to the final against Marsden SHS, which they won with a final score of 3-2.
Churchie will now play in the national finals from 6 to 7 September in Newcastle.
