In a night of exceptional musical artistry, Churchie’s Best Solos competition brought together a group of remarkably talented young musicians who left the audience in awe. The event, held on Thursday 20 July, showcased the outstanding performances of Year 10 students, highlighting the depth of musical talent within the school community.

The prestigious title of Best Soloist was awarded to Eric Kim (Year 10), whose performance left a lasting impression on both the audience and the adjudicator, Mr David Law. Eric’s ability to convey a powerful narrative through his music, coupled with his incredible sensitivity, earned him well-deserved praise from the esteemed adjudicator.

The decision for the top spot was incredibly close, with Year 10 students Junee Kim and Gabin Won receiving high commendations and special mentions for their exceptional performances. Mr Law applauded the young musicians for their ability to connect with the audience.

The event drew tremendous support from staff, students, parents and friends, who filled the venue with enthusiasm and energy. The uplifting atmosphere left everyone inspired by the end of the night, as the young musicians displayed their musical prowess and passion on stage.

As a testament to the spirit of the evening, Mr Law generously stayed behind to provide valuable feedback to each of the performers, encouraging them to continue their musical journey. This display of mentorship and encouragement exemplifies the sense of camaraderie and support that defines Churchie’s Best Solos competition.
