Quinn MacNicol named in Subway Joeys
Year 11 student Quinn MacNicol has been selected to represent Australia in Brad Maloney’s 24-player Subway Joeys youth football squad at an upcoming camp in Italy.
The squad, comprising players born in 2008 and 2009, will embark on a two-week intensive training programme at the Australian Institute of Sport European Training Centre in Varese from 5 to 19 April ahead of playing friendly matches against Switzerland Under 16 and Inter Milan FC Under 17.
Quinn made his senior debut in the Australian Cup for the Brisbane Roar FC late last year against Sydney United FC where he scored the fifth goal to secure the victory, making him the youngest player ever to score in the Australia Cup final at 15 years old. He has since been signed to the Brisbane Roar FC on a scholarship contract and is competing in the A-League mens football league.
