State chess champions
Churchie Chess won both the primary and secondary divisions of the Queensland Inter-School State Chess Finals held from 8 to 9 October 2022.
This incredible achievement entitles both teams to represent Churchie and Queensland in the Australian Schools Teams Chess Championships to be held in December in Cairns.
The competition was held over 6 rounds against Queensland’s best chess teams in Brisbane. This is the sixth consecutive time our seniors have won and the second time in 3 years that the primary team has won this prestigious title.
