About the grant

Churchie is offering a funded practicum placement for exceptional pre-service teachers who are preparing to enter the profession. This opportunity is designed to support your development in a leading primary and secondary school environment, while helping you build capability, confidence and professional networks ahead of graduation.

As a grant recipient, you will complete at least one pre-service practicum placement at Churchie and, through a separate employment agreement, have the opportunity to contribute to broader School programmes aligned to your availability.

What’s on offer

Financial support

Experience beyond the classroom

Through separate, paid employment opportunities, you may be able to gain industry-leading experience across:

  • cocurricular programmes
  • boarding programmes
  • outdoor education
  • academic support
  • other areas aligned to School needs and your strengths

Candidates should expect involvement of approximately four hours per week (or equivalent) over the course of the year, with commitments and remuneration varying by programme.

Eligibility requirements

To apply, you must:

  • be a third or fourth year pre-service teacher who will be eligible to teach the following school year
  • be enrolled in a teacher education programme at a Queensland university or tertiary institution
  • demonstrate a willingness to support the spiritual, community and cocurricular life of the School
  • have current working rights for Australia
  • hold (or be eligible to obtain) a current and valid Paid Blue Card or Exemption Card.
