Guided by our mission the making of men
Personal growth
Personal growth is intentionally nurtured throughout the Preparatory School as boys develop confidence, resilience and a strong sense of self. Guided by our mission, the making of men, boys grow in character, compassion and purpose, learning to serve others, build positive relationships and contribute meaningfully to their community.

Leadership
Learning to Lead is a guiding philosophy in the Preparatory School, where boys learn that leadership begins with service, responsibility and everyday actions.
From an early age, boys are given meaningful opportunities to lead through classroom roles, the House system, student leadership positions and participation in school events, helping them develop initiative, teamwork and integrity.
Carefully scaffolded to suit each boy’s age and stage, these experiences build confidence, empathy and a strong sense of purpose as boys grow into young men prepared to lead with character and compassion.
Coeducational experiences
Coeducational experiences play an important role in a boy’s development, building social confidence, respect and a balanced understanding of the world beyond the classroom.
Through Churchie’s valued relationship with sister school St Margaret’s Anglican Girls School in Ascot, boys benefit from meaningful opportunities to learn, collaborate and connect with girls in age-appropriate and purposeful ways, enriching their personal growth and preparing them for life beyond school. These experiences include:

Events and activities
Each term in the Preparatory School concludes with a range of fun, high-energy events that bring the community together and celebrate participation, effort and house spirit.
Across the year, boys enjoy highlights such as the Interhouse Cross Country and Public Speaking Competition in Term 1, the much-anticipated Billy Cart Grand Prix races for Years 4 to 6 in Term 2, and Interhouse Music and Tug of War in Term 3.
These end-of-term experiences give boys opportunities to challenge themselves, work as a team and proudly represent their house, strengthening friendships, fostering belonging and ensuring each term finishes on a high note.
Spiritual growth
Spiritual growth is a valued and intentional part of life in the Preparatory School, nurturing each boy’s sense of purpose, reflection and connection to others.
Through Chapel, Religious Education, prayer, service and everyday relationships, boys are guided to develop compassion, humility and moral courage, grounded in the School’s Christian faith and Anglican tradition. In a caring and supportive environment, they are encouraged to grow spiritually as part of the School’s mission of the making of men, learning to serve others and live with integrity.
