Coeducational learning beyond the classroom
Anglican Church Grammar School (Churchie) has partnered with Pymble Ladies’ College (Pymble) to provide Year 9 students with the opportunity to participate in the Vision Valley Residential Programme.
The four-week coeducational experience is held at Pymble’s Vision Valley campus, a 100-acre facility situated north-west of Sydney, backing onto the spectacular Berowra Valley National Park.
Overall, the experience was very rewarding. It is an incredible opportunity and one I will never forget.

Why Vision Valley matters
Developing character, independence and resilience
Vision Valley enables students to live, learn and grow their connection to self, others and the natural environment around them in a coeducational, technology-free environment.
Through experiential learning, students analyse situations as they explore, discover and test their physical and emotional resolve. They develop character and resilience, which in turn helps them navigate challenges in everyday life and gain skills that can be applied in their academic and sporting endeavours.
Students also gain a greater sense of independence as they attend to their daily duties, including the upkeep of their lodge and room, laundry, gardening and food preparation.
Vision Valley is an experience that forms authentic coeducational connections and ensures boys fully understand the meaning of respectful relations. Put simply, it is a rite of passage and a coming-of-age event, one that happens at such a vital and formative stage of a student’s development. Vision Valley has readily established itself as one of the most sought-after opportunities at Churchie, and that says much about the impact of the experience.

Students reside in separate accommodation lodges allocated to groups of boys or girls and join together for meals, learning, recreation, downtime and camping expeditions.
Throughout their time at Vision Valley, students continue their academic studies in mathematics, English, humanities, science and language.

A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Vision Valley and to both Churchie and Pymble Ladies College for creating such a life-changing experience. Our son returned more confident, grounded and socially aware. He often speaks about the importance of teamwork, resilience and appreciating the simple things in life. In today’s modern world, very few opportunities exist that allow young people to disconnect, reflect and grow in such meaningful ways. We’re incredibly grateful for this unique programme—the personal growth we’ve witnessed has been remarkable.
