Canberra Tour 2024
During the September holidays, 59 Year 6 boys embarked on a four-day comprehensive educational experience in Canberra.
Students had the opportunity to explore the heart of Australia’s democracy at Parliament House, touring the House of Representatives and the Senate, learning how laws are made and participating in a mock parliamentary session.
At the Australian Electoral Commission, the boys gained an insight into Australia’s electoral process and an understanding of how voting shapes our nation. The body participated in a simulated election, helping them grasp the fundamentals of our democratic system.
Another highlight of the trip was a visit to the National Gallery of Australia, where students were mesmerised by a range of stunning artworks, including iconic pieces of Australian history and contemporary art.
This year’s tour was also perfectly timed for the boys to experience the beauty and colour of Canberra’s annual Floriade event.
Overall, the trip was a fantastic educational experience, filled with learning, exploration and fun.
