Partnership with Rackley East Brisbane

Rackley East Brisbane is founded on the philosophy of ‘fun, tough and fast.’ It is a simple but powerful approach: when swimmers enjoy training, they thrive. When challenged, they grow. And when supported to reach their personal best, they become fast—whatever ‘fast’ means to them.

At the heart of the programme is a team of exceptional coaches. Head Coach Josh Smith brings more than 20 years of experience, including leadership roles at Somerville House and River City Rapids. His track record includes coaching Australian Age National Champions and Paralympians, and building Rackley Hibiscus into a nationally recognised programme. Josh now leads the East Brisbane team and Churchie’s GPS Swimming programme with energy and vision.

Supporting him is Kelly Stubbins, a former Australian Dolphin whose coaching emphasises long-term athlete development and mental wellbeing. Many of her athletes have gone on to state and national success. Her holistic approach ensures swimmers are supported both in and out of the pool.

Clyde Lewis, Commonwealth Games gold medallist and former Australian Dolphin, brings the perspective of an elite swimmer. His coaching is grounded in connection and enjoyment, helping young athletes build confidence and resilience through sport.

Centre Manager Kylie Roberts, recognised as Rackley’s 2024 Swim Teacher of the Year, contributes three decades of experience in swim teaching and aquatic centre operations. Kylie’s leadership ensures the swim school is welcoming, well-run and focused on building foundational skills for life.

Together, the Rackley East Brisbane team provides Churchie families with a swimming programme that combines technical excellence, personal growth and a strong sense of community.

From those beginning their swimming journey to those striving for higher performance, every swimmer will be supported through this partnership with Rackley East Brisbane.
